Crazy colorful hats on parade at 139th running of Kentucky Derby, It is one of the main hat fashion events of the season as over-the-top styles of crazy and colorful hats will parade today at the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby, Saturday, May 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Wearing just the right hat to get noticed at the run for the roses at Churchill Downs dates back to 1875 during the first running of the Kentucky Derby. Now 138 years later wearing just the right hat is still a big part of all the fanfare which includes sipping on a mint julep.
