Ponytail stunt death: Man suffers massive heart attack while doing stunt, Ponytail stunt death update: The Indian Sailendra Nath Roy died Sunday while crossing a river hanging onto a wire that was attached to his own hair in an attempt to break his previous record, which he had obtained in 2011. According to BBC's report on April 29, Roy had advanced to the halfway mark of the 180 meter trip, but witnesses say he appeared to make no progress.
"He was desperately trying to move forward. He was trying to scream out some instruction. But no one could follow what he was saying. After struggling for 30 minutes he became still," said Balai Sutradhar, a photographer, who was covering the stunt above the Teesta river in West Bengal, India
For more than 20 minutes the spectators looked on as Roy unsuccessfully tried to break free.
"Roy tried frantically to get hold of a second rope to reach the finishing point," senior local police officer K. Jayaraman told media sources.
The ambulance took 45 minutes to arrive at the scene and Roy was pronounced dead at a hospital in the city of Siliguri. Doctors at the hospital said the cause of death was from a massive heart attack.
In 2011, the police driver managed to travel 82.5 metres on a zip wire while attached by his hair at a hotel in the desert state of Rajasthan.
