Nike pulls ‘Boston Massacre’ shirts from stores

Nike pulls ‘Boston Massacre’ shirts from stores, In a time when Americans and Bostonians alike are mourning the deaths of three people killed in a terrorist attack at the 117th Boston Marathon, you would think everyone would be extra sensitive. However, it seems some still jumps at the chance to earn a buck even if they offend the people who are suffering. According to an article published on Yahoo! News by The Turnstile on April 22, Nike, a company known for its active wear, released and then pulled a t-shirt with the bloody words “Boston Massacre” printed on the front.

While Nike may have removed these shirts from stores, they are sure to have an effect on the victims and families of this tragedy. Those victims include an 8-year-old who was attending the Boston Marathon with his family, and many others.

The April 15 bombings were allegedly carried out by 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev and his 26-year-old brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The oldest brother, Tamerlan was killed on April 18 in a confrontation with law enforcement officers. His brother, Dzhokhar was taken into custody nearly 24 hours after his brother was killed, and is recovering from the serious injuries he received in two separate shootouts with police.

Authorities charged 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev with using a weapon of mass destruction, and with malicious destruction of property resulting in death on Monday, April 22.
