Bombers' Times Square plan: 2 brothers planned to bomb NYC

Bombers' Times Square plan: 2 brothers planned to bomb NYC, The Boston bombers' had a Times Square plan and New York City was reportedly next on their cities to target. On April 25, CNN reported that suspect #2, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has told investigators that he and his older brother, Tamerlan (deceased), were planning an attack in the heart of NYC.

"Last night we were informed by the FBI that the surviving attacker revealed that New York City was next on their list of targets," said New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It was previously reported that the Tsarnaev brothers were planning on going to the Big Apple to party but Dzhokhar admitted that while they were there, they'd set off whatever other bombs they had lying around.

The bombers' Times Square plan is frightening to think about. It is unknown when or where the two brothers were going to leave the bomb but there are thousands of people in Times Square on a regular basis. If they had made it there last weekend, there likely would have been a lot of children there because it was the end of school vacation week.

"New York officials know that Dzhokhar was in New York late last year, likely in November. There is no evidence that New York City is currently a target of a terror attack stemming from the Boston bombings," according to New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Had the bombers' carried out their Times Square plan, hundreds more people would have likely been injured and more may have died.
