Cold air returns Wednesday

Cold air returns Wednesday, Mother Nature continues to tease us with short lived warm ups. The temperature will drop quickly again on Wednesday as a cold front plows through the region during the morning hours. Expect the thermometer to show the upper 50s around sunrise but be down into the middle 40s by lunch time.

Rain will accompany the front during the morning hours as well so except a wet morning commute. Only isolated rumbles of thunder are anticipated with this weather system and it does not look like severe weather will be a threat. The rain will exit to the easy by early afternoon but clouds will stick around the rest of the day.

Skies will turn partly cloudy on Wednesday night. Lows will dip into the middle 30s meaning patchy frost will be possible. Highs will head back into the middle 50s on Thursday afternoon. A passing, weak weather disturbance will cause a few isolated sprinkles to be possible during the day. The weather will dry out completely for Friday as highs head back into the 60s.

Moisture will return to the region by this weekend along with the chance for rain. No significant weather systems are forecast, but weak upper level energy will linger around the eastern U.S. keeping an isolated chance for showers and storms in the forecast. Luckily the weekend forecast is not calling for a washout. Temperatures will moderate through the weekend as well. Highs will head into the upper 60s on Saturday and eventually 70s by the beginning of next week.
