MTV: 'Scream' TV pilot debut planned for 2014, Movie fans have seen a lot of books turned into movies like “Harry Potter,” “Twilight,” and more. They've also seen television shows like “Sex and the City” turned into movies. However, what they haven't seen a lot of are movies turned into TV series, but that's about to change. According to an article published by BBC News on April 26, MTV has announced plans to turn the “Scream” film franchise into a TV series.

The first of the slasher style, stalker films was released in 1996, and since that time three sequels have been released. The latest was “Scream 4” in 2011.

Each of the films have been directed by Wes Craven, who is reportedly in talks with MTV officials about possibly directing the television series.

All four of the original films starred Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette, but there hasn't been any reports about of the old cast members making appearances in the TV series.

The MTV “Scream” pilot is planned to debut in the summer of 2014.
