Chilly weather to arrive on Wednesday along with scattered showers, High pressure responsible for the pleasant weather across the eastern Great Lakes over the past couple of days, will slide off to the east this afternoon and this evening, making way for our next weather maker.

A cold front, currently moving into the Great Lakes will spread clouds and showers eastward across the region, beginning across eastern lower Michigan late this afternoon, Ohio and western Pennsylvania tonight, and central Pennsylvania and western New York by daybreak Wednesday. This cold front will bring an end to our current spell of mild temperatures with readings falling back below normal for mid week.

The cold front will move eastward across the region Wednesday bringing colder weather and scattered rain showers. Some of the rain showers could even mix with or change to snow showers across eastern lower Michigan during the day Wednesday.

Chilly and unsettled weather will persist Wednesday night and Thursday as a cold upper level trough swings eastward across the eastern Great Lakes. Mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers will be the rule under the upper trough.

The trough will lift out to the northeast Friday with sunshine and moderating temperatures returning to the region.
