D.C. police investigate 2 murders on Sunday

D.C. police investigate 2 murders on Sunday, The first was reported around 2:50 a.m. in the 3400 block of Stanton Road. That is in the Douglass Neighborhood of Southeast.

Upon arrival, officers found two men and a juvenile male suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to trauma centers by ambulance where the first victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police later identified the decedent as 21-year-old Alvin Allen, Jr. of Southeast.

Just before 7 p.m., another man was shot in the 4100 block of 20th Street. That is in the Woodridge Neighborhood of Northeast.

An adult male was taken by ambulance to a trauma center suffering an apparent gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead.

Police have not yet released his name.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about either case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
