Boston bombing suspects now reportedly motivated by U.S. wars, Officials are learning more about what motivated 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev and his 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev to set off two bombs at the 117th running of the Boston Marathon. According to an article published on Yahoo! News by The Lookout on April 23, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is now telling investigators that he and his brother were motivated by the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to officials, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev also claimed that he and his brother were also motivated by their Islamic religion, but he maintains they acted alone, and are not a part of any other known terrorist groups.

Dzhokhar is currently listed in fair condition in a Massachusetts hospital. He is recovering from injuries he received in two separate shootouts with law enforcement officers on April 18 and 19. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a confrontation with police on April 18.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged on Monday, April 22 with using a weapon of mass destruction, and with malicious destruction of property resulting in death. The charges stem from his involvement in the double bombings at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured more than 170 others.
