After a person receives a Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Pistol Permit it is good for five years and must be renewed to keep the pistol permit current.

To renew a Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Pistol Permit it will cost $20.00 and can be paid by mailing a check, cashiers check, or money order along with your current pistol permit number and any changes of address or phone numbers.

A pistol permit does not permit a person to carry a pistol while consuming alcohol, carry a pistol inside an airport, courthouse, or any public building that prohibits firearms.

A pistol permit does not authorize a person to carry a pistol to public gatherings such as sporting events, political events, parades, or other type public events.
