Boston Marathon: Suspect's widow releases his body to family

Boston Marathon: Suspect's widow releases his body to family, The widow of 26-year-old, Tamerlan Tsarnaev has agreed to release his body to his family according to an article published by the Boston Globe on April 30.

On Tuesday, April 30 the attorney for Tamerlan Tsarnaev's widow, Katherine Russell, said she had just learned that the body was ready to be released, and that she has agreed to let the Tsarnaev family claim the remains.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was allegedly killed after he ran out of ammunition during a gunfight with law enforcement officers on April 18. However, it's still unclear what caused his death. Police say that 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was attempting to escape capture when he ran over Tamerlan while he was lying on the ground. Authorities added that Dzhokhar subsequently dragged Tamerlan's body down the street. Since that fatal confrontation, Tamerlan Tsarnaev's remains have been held at the medical examiner’s office in Massachusetts.

The Tsarnaev brothers are allegedly responsible for the April 15 bombings at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured over 200 others.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is still recovering from injuries he received during a confrontation with the police that led to his capture. He is currently being held at a federal medical center on charges of using a weapon of mass destruction, and with malicious destruction of property resulting in death.
